  • 22ND AUGUST Thomas and his father John fought at The Battle of Bosworth. This was between Richard III and Henry Tudor. Result Henry Tudor wins and becomes Henry VII of England.Richard IIIis killed at the battle.

  • Thomas Howard was wounded at Bosworth and imprisoned in the Tower for several years, and the dukedom of Norfolk was forfeited . Thomas remained in the Tower for three years and a half, receiving the liberal allowance of 2l. a week for his board

  • Thomas Howard, was the 2nd Duke of Norfolk abd was Earl of Surrey

  • Thomas was a descendant of English royalty On his father's side, He was descended from Richard, 1st Earl of Cornwall, the second son of King John, who had an illegitimate son, named Richard whose daughter, Joan of Cornwall, married Sir John Howard .
 
  • Thomas was educated at the school at Thetford . Then went on to have a long career of service at court as henchman to Edward IV.
 
  • Thomas and his father John Howard were close friends and companion of Richard, Duke of Gloucester, the Future Richard II of England. When Henry VII (Tudor) can to the throne, after the battle of Bosworth it took time for Thomas to gain Henry Tudor's Trust, but it did happen.
