  • 9TH APRIL King Edward IV is dead and now his son, Edward V is King of all England. Thomas sworn to King Edward IV on his death bed to be faithful to his son Edward V.
  • 16TH JUNE Thomas persuaded the queen dowager Elizabeth Woodville to allow her younger infant son, Richard of Shrewsbury, 1st Duke of York, to join his elder infant brother King Edward V before his coronation in the Tower.
  • 26TH JUNE Edward V is deposed and kept with his brother Richard of Shrewsbury in the Tower of London. Now The Princes Uncle Richard III is King of All England.

  • 18TH JANUARY Thomas performed the marriage of Henry VII of England and Elizabeth of York, the daughter of the late Edward IV
  • 13TH MARCH Thomas Bourchier, Archbishop of Canterbury died at Knole House aged eighty-two years.

  • Thomas Bourchier was Arch-bishop of Canterbury from 1454-86, during the reigns of four Plantagenet Kings and the beginning of Tudor Era .
 
  • Thomas was a great grandson of King Edward III through his mother, Anne, a daughter of Thomas of Woodstock, duke of Gloucester also making him also a first cousin to Henry IV and first cousin once removed to Richard Duke of York, who was father to Edward IV and Richard III.
 
  • John, Lord Berners, the translator of Froissart was Thomas grand-nephew.
 
  • Some of the oldest parts of Knole house in Sevenoaks in west Kent were built by Thomas Bourchier, between 1456 and 1486.
