  • 27TH MARCH George’s father Richard 2rd Duke of York is appointed Protector of the Realm and Chief Councillor to Henry VI of england.

  • 30th DECEMBER George’s father Richard 3rd Duke York and his brother Edmund are killed at the Battle of Wakefield.

  • 4TH MARCH Henry VI of England id deposed and now Edward Earl of March , George’s brother is Edward  IV King of England.
  • 28TH JUNE The coronation of Edward IV. Edward is crowned in Westminster by Thomas Bourchier, Archbishop of Canterbury
  • George was made Duke of Clarence and invested as a Knight of the Garter

  • George, received the Honour of Richmond, a lifetime grant, but without the peerage title of Earl of Richmond& was appointed as Lord Lieutenant of Ireland

  • JULY George married Isabel Neville in in Église Notre-Dame de Calais. Isabel was the daughter of Richard Neville.
1470
  • The Lincolnshire Rebellion. This was a uprising against King Edward which was said to be by Richard Neville, 16th Earl of Warwick, who had gradually fallen out with the king over the latter's unpopular marriage and aspects of English foreign policy. However many modern historians dispute this.
  • George with his wife Isabel fled England with Richard Neville Earl Warwick in France.
  • 17TH APRIL Isabel. George’s wife gave birth to a child, but died at birth outside Calais at sea.
  • 3RD OCTOBER Edward IV is deposed and now Henry VI is back on the English throne.

  • 11TH APRIL King Henry VI is deposed and now Edward IV is back on the English throne
  • 14TH APRIL George’s father-in-law Richard Neville, 16th Earl of Warwick, is killed at the battle of Barnet
  • 21ST MAY The deposed Henry VI died in the Tower of London.

  • MARCH George is created by right of his wife earl of Warwick and Salisbury
  • SPRING George’s brother Richard married the widowed Anne Neville.

  • 14TH AUGUST George’s daughter Margaret is born in Farleigh Hungerford Castle,

  • 25TH FEBRUARY George’s son Edward Plantagenet is born at Warwick castle.

  • 14H JANUARY George’s sister Anne of York, Duchess of Exeter died
  • 6TH OCTOBER Richard of York, George’s son is born
  • 22ND DECEMBER George’s wife Isabel Neville, Duchess of Clarence died at Warwick castle.

  • 1ST JANUARY Richard of York George’s son died.
  • George was imprisoned in the Tower of London for treason.

  • George is put on trial for treason against his brother Edward IV. Both houses of Parliament passed the bill of attainder,
  • 18TH FEBRUARY George was "privately executed" at the Tower , by tradition in the Bowyer Tower, and soon after the event, the rumour gained ground that he had been drowned in a butt of Malmsey wine.
 
George Plantagenet was buried in the Tewkesbury Abbey beside his wife Isabel Neville

  • George Plantagenet, was the1st Duke of Clarence, 1st Earl of Salisbury, 1st Earl of Warwick

  • England's monarchs, Edward IV and Richard III were both George’s brothers.
​
  • He was the father of the Executed Edward 17th Earl of Warwick and Margaret Pole, one of the last legitimate Plantagenets.

  • In George’s lifetime, Henry VI and his Brother had both been Monarchs twice during the Wars of The Roses.

  • In his Youth, George, was said to be handsome, tall and charming. When George married Isabel Neville, he joined forces with Richard Neville Earl of Warwick, The Earl Warwick and allied with the Lancastrians led by Margaret of Anjou, Queen consort to Henry VI. After Isabel Neville's sister Anne was married to Edward of Westminster, Prince of Wales, the son and heir of Henry VI, George rejoined his brother, after realizing that it was now unlikely that he would become king.
  • George and Richard, were two brothers married to two sisters, who were also their cousins. When Richard Neville 16th Earl Warwick died, and Richard married Anne Neville, the sister. The brothers bickered over the inheritance of the late Earl. Until their brother King Edward IV intervened and eventually divided the estates between his brothers.

  • At the time of Isabel Neville’s death George accused one of her ladies-in-waiting of having murdered her, and committed in his turn a notorious judicial murder of the lady, called Ankarette Twynyho. Ankarette's grandson Roger Twynyho received from Edward IV a full retrospective pardon for Ankarette, and the petition he submitted to the king in 1478 describes fully the circumstances of the case

  • The Clarence Tower, in Warwick castle, that was built in the 15th Century under Richard III, is named after George.
