The Virgin Queen, was a four-part miniseries by the BBC about Queen Elizabeth the 1st of England. The show begins just before her accession to the English  throne, and then tells the story of different aspects of her reign, till her death.

The series was first aired in the US on the 13th November 2005. The series was originally due to air on the BBC in September 2005, however due to the clash in Channel four new Drama Elizabeth 1st , starring Helen Mirren, there were delays.

All four episodes were directed by Coky Giedroyc and Paula Milne had writing credits to all four episodes. Soundtracks “Say Its Not So”  was sung by "The Mediaeval Baebes", Composed by Martin Phipps.
