  • Richard and his son John accompanied King Edward IVon a march north, to put down what was thought to be a minor rebellion supporting Edward's brother the Duke of Clarence as the legitimate king.
  • 26TH JULY: Battle Of Edgecote Moor: The battle was between houses of York, and Lancaster, location was by Danes moor in Northamptonshire, England. Richard was present with his son John at this battle and was taken, prisoner.

  • Richard Woodville, 1st Earl Rivers was best remembered as the father of Queen consort Elizabeth Woodville and the maternal grandfather of Edward V and the maternal great-grandfather of Henry VIII.
