  • Joan and her two elder brothers lodges in one of Charles’s her brother’s castles in Normandy. while Charles is at war.

  • 2ND OCTOBER: Joan married her first husband , John iv, duke of Brittany, and becomes duchess of Brittany,

  •  1ST JANUARY: Joan’s father Charles II of Navarre died, and Joan’s brother Charles is King of Navarre, burned alive in accident.

  • 20TH MARCH:  Joan’s husband, Henry IV of England died, and his son Henry is now King of England
  • 9TH APRIL: Joan’s stepson, Henry’s coronation as King of England, the fifth of his name. Henry is crowned by Thomas Arundel, Archbishop of Canterbury.

  • Joan is regent to England in Henry V England absence, while in France.
  • OCTOBER: Joan’s son Arthur is a prisoner of Henry V England after being captured at the battle of Agincourt

  • Joan is accused of using witchcraft to poison King Henry V England he was imprisoned in Pevensey castle in Sussex

EXTRA FACTS ON JOAN OF NAVARRE

  • Joan Of Navarre Queen consort of England for ten years and the Duchessof Brittany, for thirteen years
 
 
  • Joan was the second wife of Henry IV of England and the daughter of King Charles, II of Navarre, nicknamed Charles the Bad. Also the Granddaughter of the late King John II France, through her mother.
 
 
  • Joan’s first husband was John, however she was his third wife. John’s first wife, had been Mary Plantagenet, the daughter of the late Edward III of England.
 
  • Due to Joan’s foreign birth, she struggled to win the people’s popularity.
 
 
  • Joan had a very good relationship with Henry IV children. Until around late 1415, when her son Arthur was a prisoner to Henry V of England, Joan tried to get him released, and then accusations against her for witchcraft, followed by imprisonment.
 
  • When Joan died, she was buried next to Henry IV England, Canterbury Cathedral, Kent, just beside the shrine of Thomas Becket.
