  • MAY Edmund matriculated as a sizar at Pembroke Hall (now Pembroke College), Cambridge

  • Edmund took his BA. eleventh in a list of one hundred and twenty students

  • Edmund left Cambridge for Kent after taking his M.A, sixty-sixth in a list of seventy

  • Edmund during the nine years war, was driven from his home by the native Irish forces of Aodh Ó Néill, and his castle at Kilmarnock was burned, one of his children died in the fire , Edmund travelled back to London took up residence in King's Street

  • Edmund Spenser was a successful active poet in the English reconnaissance between 1569 till his death in 1599.
 
  • Edmunds early education was in London at the Merchant Taylor' School
 
  • Edmunds work, was successful enough to obtain a life pension of fifty pound a year from Queen Elizabeth I England
 
  • Edmund was married twice, he had two children Sylvanus and Katherine, to his first wife and one child a daughter Catherine to his second wife.
 
  • It was Gabriel Harvey, himself who was admitted as a Fellow of Pembroke Hall that introduced Edmuind to a number of important connections and potential patrons, including Robert Dudley, Earl of Leicester.
 
 
  • Elizabeth Spencer, Baroness Hunsdon, was the inspiration for Edmund Spenser's Muiopotmos, It was about a tightly-structured poem in which the butterfly Clarion is killed by the spider Aragnoll
