Catherine Parr was the sixth wife and Queen consort of Henry VIII of England for three and half years.

Sir Thomas Parr, Catherine’s father was a descendant of Edward III of England, through his mother’s line.

Catherine mother’s grandparents were first cousins to late queen consort Elizabeth Woodville.

Catherine married four times in total. First to Sir Edward Burgh Second to John Neville, 3rd Baron Latimer. Third to Henry VIII of England Then lastly to Thomas Seymour.

Catherine’s mother Maud Green had followed Thomas More’s example and educated her daughters Anne and Catherine at home. All of her children could all read from a young age. Catherine was taught French, Latin, and Italian and a wide range of social skills that included "a knowledge of etiquette and good manners, an easy conversational style, the ability to sing and play music

Catherine’s sister Anne Parr, had been a lady- in -waiting to all six of Henry VIII of England’s Queen consorts.

However, when she married Thomas Seymour, Anne’s brother in law, The Duchess considered that Catherine Parr forfeited her rights of precedence, she refused to bear Catherine's train, and even physically tried to push her out of her place at the head of their entrances and exits at court. The Duchess was quoted as having said of Catherine, "If master admiral (Thomas Seymour) teach his wife no better manners, I am she that will". Catherine, in her turn, privately referred to her sister-in-law as "that Hell"

Thomas Seymour had reputedly plotted to marry Elizabeth before marrying Catherine, and it was reported later that Catherine discovered the two in an embrace. On a few occasions before the situation risked getting completely out of hand, according to the deposition of Kat Ashley, Catherine appears not only to have acquiesced in episodes of horseplay but to have assisted her husband. princess Elizabeth was sent away from Catherine’s home to live in the household of Anthony Denny. the Lady Jane Grey lived there still, until Catherine’s death.
